Jacquelyn McCarthy, CSJ, RN

Sister Jacquelyn has served as Bethany Health Care Center’s CEO/Administrator for twenty-one years. A graduate of the Laboure College with a degree in Nursing, Sister Jacquelyn has also earned a bachelor’s degree at St. Joseph College and a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Framingham State University. As a Sister of St. Joseph, Sister Jacquelyn has been a member of the Bethany family for more than 37 years. She has served in a variety of capacities during her time at Bethany including Staff Nurse, Nurse Supervisor and Director of Nursing. In 1988, Sister Jacquelyn became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and served as Administrator at Sancta Maria Nursing Home and Wingate at Brighton.

In 2018 Governor Baker named Sister Jacquelyn to the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Nursing Home Administrators. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the American College Health Care Administrators, MASS Chapter; the Informal Dispute Resolution Committee, Department of Public Health; Regis College, Weston, MA; Elizabeth Seton Nursing Facility; Mass Senior Care and a Health Care Consultant; National Religious Retirement Office, Washington, DC; and Nursing Home Advisors.

Named a Health Care Champion by the Boston Business Journal in August, 2009, Sister Jacquelyn is also a recipient of the AMDA Foundation Evercare Award for Improving the Quality of Life for Persons Living in Nursing Homes and the Eli Pick Leadership Award from the American College of Health Care Administrators. Under Sister Jacquelyn’s guidance and leadership, Bethany Health Care Center has consistently received the highest possible overall rating of 5 stars from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and U.S. News & World Report.
